What happens first if you want a Custom-made garment?

Call me and set up an appointment. I charge an initial consultation fee to meet with you and discuss the project. If we agree to go forward immediately, the fee becomes a deposit on the final cost. I must approve both the pattern choice and the fabric to make sure they are compatible. You are paying for my expertise, and I want to offer it to you!

Also at this initial appointment, we will discuss your needs, how I plan to meet them, what your responsibilities will be (making choices, coming for fittings), and the target finish date for the project.

Estimates: Each custom made garment is just that—customized—an individual work of art. Generally you will be quoted a firm price once the fabric and pattern have been reviewed. Design changes once the project has been begun will incur an additional charge, and in the event additional fabric or notions are needed, they will be added to your final cost. You will be kept apprised at all times

Communication: This is key! I need to know what you want, need and expect. This helps me do the best possible job for you, and keeps everyone happy. This is especially important for weddings, because they are such a stressful time, and I want getting dressed to be a fun part of the day!
